The Vamp

And here I tried and almost succeeded on creating a proportional woman.  I liked this painting style with the very thin outline in a darker shade of the object's color.

Camoflage

This was a fun painting to make.  I used a sponge brush and just layered on lots of colors.  Very fun. :)

Quick Sketch

This is a quick cartoon version of my sister Laura.  It shows her in her natural habitat: at her desk playing World of Warcraft. :)

Puppy

Here is my second offering to this blog.  For this drawing I found a random picture of a puppy online and did a very quick sketch of it in Painter.  I then painted on a layer over the guide using a Oil brush called Tapered Flat Oils 15.  I had never used that brush before and it was a little weird to get used to but it was kind of fun to try something so different from my normal technique.

I do not claim to have any rights to the photo of the puppy.  I found it online and I do not believe that it is copyrighted.

First Day

Well, here goes my attempt to start a sketch blog.  Hopefully this will work out well and I will be able to keep up despite schoolwork. :)

This is my first IllustrationFriday drawings based on last week's topic Resolutions.  

I started with a pencil sketch.  I then scanned that in to the computer and using COREL Painter 11 re-drew the picture.  For this drawing I painted the whole thing in grayscale (similar to the bed skirt) and then painted the color overtop with Color layers.
