Harry Potter Sketch
Here is my sketch from yesterday. Proud little Harry Potter with his broomstick. Mechanical pencil. Color added in Photoshop with a mouse. I didn't get to post this yesterday because my husband was using the computer the entire day. I really want his scarf. Go Gryffindor!

Farm Girl LeBlanc
Here is my daily sketch featuring Farm Girl LeBlanc. LeBlanc is a character in League of Legends. Drawn with mechanical pencil, photographed with the iPad, and then color add in Photoshop using a regular mouse. I can't wait for a tablet.

Release the telepathic robot hummingbirds!
I have begun doing daily drawings but I've decided to shake things up a bit. The other day I put a ton of different random drawing ideas on slips of paper and put them in an instant hot chocolate box and each day I draw a slip of paper and then draw whats on it. They range from things from my own brain to things randomly generated from this website www.seventhsanctum.com. I might not post all of my drawings though its not like the wide web really cares anyway XD

Gingerbread Singed
Here is a quick sketch of Gingerbread Singed, a skin idea for League of Legends. I have no idea who came up with the original idea but here is my rendition. I drew the gingerbread man with pencil, then redrew it on my iPad. I did not draw the background for this.

Maize - Anime Catgirl
This is drawing I did on paper first. I was practicing fashion poses and then I used the random character generator I mentioned before. It has a anime catgirl generator as well and that is where this came from. The colors and fashion style were chosen by the generator. I took a picture of my drawing with the iPad and then redrew it in the Sketch Club app with my finger. (I wore out the stylus a couple months ago.)

Fashion Self Portrait
This is a self portrait I did in the signature fashion style - very long legs and all. I've always been interesting in fashion sketching and recently obtained a copy of Bina Abling's wonderful book Fashion Sketchbook. If you are interesting in learning how to draw fashion, this is a great resource. This is one of the outfits I got from my mother-in-law for my birthday.
Zombie Survivor Lux and Caitlin
These are two skin designs I did for Zombie Survivor Lux and Zombie Survivor Caitlin. Lux and Caitlin are League of Legends characters. I was orginally going to make 5 Zombie Survivor skins - Lux, Caitlin, Akali, Gangplank, and Olaf but I didn't like my other designs as much. So here we have Lux with her old cheerleader uniform and her flaming baton and Caitlin with her signature sniper rifle and stylish hat.
Random Character Generator
I recently was having fun with a random character generator that I found online. These are to quick designs I did for two of the character one-liners that the generator gave me. The first one is the "healthy, negative, withdrawn prostitute" and the second one is the "nimble, optimistic, disloyal outlaw with an odd birthmark." And again, a very nice shadow of myself as I took the picture of my sketchbook.
League of Legends - Karma Skin
This is a sketch I did of one of Karma's skins while I was watching America's Next Top Model reruns. Karma is one of the support champions in the free-to-play computer game League of Legends.
Deus Ex Machina
This is an unfinished sketch I did while my husband and I were exploring a story idea based on the theatrical concept of deus ex machina. This shows the female peasant character with the (unfinished) farmer and knight. The female peasant was the design that was most finished before we decided not to pursue the project for the time being.
Above is an expression sheet I did for the female peasant. Below are some more character sketches for the peasant girl. The girl was very clumsy and easily startled and so over the course of the story she got more and more injured. Here is the progression from normal to wheelchair.

Tree World Sketches
These are some sketches I did of some of the characters in the iPad game Tree World. I posted an iPad painting I did of the Free Bird earlier. And as you can see a very nice shadow cast by the iPad while I took the picture. XD
Sumo Dog
I know its been awhile since I've posted. I wore through my last stylus for the iPad and now it just smears black stuff everywhere. I am now going to post some of the stuff I have drawn over the past several months but haven't posted since I don't have a flatbed scanner. These were all drawn in my giant sketchbook and I got tired of not posting so I took pictures of them with the iPad.
This one was a random sketch that I did back in August. I didn't have a planfor this one just started with the face and this is what it turned into. Looks like a canine sumo wrestler to me.

Trick or Treat Sketch
This was sketched on paper then scanned in and redrawn on the iPad. Happy Halloween... in a month...

Free Bird Drawing
This is a quick painting I did on the iPad while at a dodgeball game. This painting is of Free Bird which is one of the limited animals in a free iPad app called Tree World. I always thought the design was cute so I wanted to draw it.

Blue Dude Sketch
This is a random sketch I did on the iPad and it was my first experiment with the mirroring tool in the SketchClub app. Also this is when I discovered the text tool in SketchClub, which is fun but very hard to control. You type the text you want into the control panel and then use it as a brush on the canvas. The words repeat and the size varies according to how fast you move the stylus.
League of Legends Lolz Contest
Here is a comic I created for the League of Legends Lolz contest. This comic stars Udyr, Xin Zhao, Lee Sin and Malphite who are all junglers in the League of Legends and often used by the squishy mages to get blue buff. LeBlanc makes a guest appearance as the female mage with deadly charms. This comic is a bit rough because I couldn't decide whether or not I wanted to enter the contest and then finally the day before the deadline I decided to go for it after I got off work. So it's not as polished as I would have liked.
Screaming Girl Design
This is a character design for a girl in a 3D project that Jake and I were thinking about starting. We were playing around with an idea for a series of really short 3D shorts and this nameless klutz was going to be one of the main characters. We have benched that project for now though.

Wizard for Jake
Hello. It has been a long time since my last post and for that I apologize. I just graduated from Huntington University in mid May and then my husband and I had to pack up the apartment and move back home while we look for jobs. Now that I'm back at home I no longer have access to the Cintiqs and scanners at HU so I haven't been doing a good job of updating this site. However Jake's parents did give him an iPad for graduation and so I have begun sketching again on that.
It's a lot different trying to sketch on the iPad. We got this awesome app called Sketch Club and it is pretty great. It is hard to get used to the stylus which has a really wide, soft rubber tip and so isn't very accurate. The trickiest part though is remembering not to let my hand touch the screen when I'm drawing since whenever there are two points of contact the image starts rotating and moving. However with a little practice I think it will work really well.
So the above is my first real drawing with the Sketch Club app. I asked my husband what I should draw and he asked for a wizard that looked like the main character in the anime Black Blood Brothers. Color palate was also Jake's choice.

Star Wars Twi'lek Jedi
Here is a quick digital painting I did for Doodle United. The topic was Star Wars. I always thought that the Twi'leks looked really cool so I decided to do one of them even though Artoo Detoo and Mara Jade are my favorite characters. Maybe later I will do a sketch of R2-D2 or Mara.

Beyond Admissions: Big Monkey
Here is my latest comic strip for the school newspaper. For the last few weeks of school there have been at least five surveys a week being sent out through the school emails. All of these are done through a online survey website called Survey Monkey. Done entirely in Manga Studio.
Mouse and Dragon
Here is a sketch of a dragon who has just found something rather interesting. A little mouse who has no fear. I like the dragon's wings. They look very useful. Done with mechanical pencil.

Harley Quinn
Here is a digital painting of Harley Quinn. Harley Quinn was one of my favorite villains in Batman the Animated Series. In this painting I decided to put her in something closer to street clothes with some Joker graffiti thrown in. The original sketch was done in pencil and the painting was done in Photoshop.

The Zoo That Time Forgot
Here is a movie poster I did for the Inspirational Design class that I took last year. I did not post it for a very long time because I do not have the rights to three of those little black and white posters in the bottom right corner. However I decided to post it anyway. Just be aware that I do not claim to have rights to those pictures. This was a student project.
For the assignment Bryan Ballinger passed out printouts of old movie posters with a word or two blanked out of the title. We were then instructed to choose a new word for that blank and then create a movie poster for that title that followed the design and style of the old poster.
So the top poster is my version, The Zoo That Time Forgot. The bottom picture is the original poster for The Land That Time Forgot. I kept the same general color scheme and layout but changed the creatures and events to better fit with a zoo. I also tried to mimic the painting style which was a lot different then how i normally work.

Beyond Admissions: Sunlight
Here is my latest comic strip for the school newspaper. This past week the weather has been absolutely wonderful. So much sunlight and just the right breeze. Yay for the sun! Done in Manga Studio.

Neck and Neck Sketch
Here is a sketch I did based on a Pictionary topic - "Neck and Neck"
They kind of remind me of reverse dachshunds. Instead of long bodies, they have long necks. I'd keep one as a pet. Assuming they had charming temperaments like dachshunds, rather than yappy little chihuahua temperaments.

Fiddlesticks Sketch
Here is a quick sketch of League of Legends champion, Fiddlesticks. He is a really annoying champion to play against. This was done with reference but I changed the pose...not that his poses change that much. He's a little bit wooden.

WALL-E Sketch
Here is a sketch of Wall-e and Eve. I love this movie. Wall-e is so cute. Done in mechanical pencil. Drawn from reference.
Roller Derby Girl
Here is a drawing I did of a roller derby girl. Inspired by the Psych episode, "Talk Derby To Me." I really like this chick's hair. It makes me happy. Drawn in mechanical pencil.
Animal Hats
Here's some sketches from my new sketchbook. These are some animal hats designs. The bottom one is based on a hat that I own. I really like the penguin one. I wonder if I could find one like that. Done in mechanical pencil and scanned in.

Beyond Admissions: Simplicity
Here is the latest of my comics for the school newspaper. They asked for one based on the budget cuts in the theater department. This was done entirely in MangaStudio Debut.
For those you who are not familiar with "Our Town," it is a play with basically no set and hardly any props. Basically all that it uses is several wooden chairs, a couple wooden tables, two stools, a board, and a ladder. All other "props" are pantomimed.

The Wolf Hunt: Graphic Novel
My senior project is a graphic novel adaptation of The Wolf Hunt by Gillian Bradshaw. This is the first page of the graphic novel I am working on. I can't post all of the novel but I will post a couple of my favorite pages as I finish them.

Juno and the Peacock
This is a sketch I did to accompany one of Aesop's fables about Juno and the Peacock. The peacock, not content with his great beauty, goes to the goddess Juno and asks her to give him a beautiful singing voice as well. Thanks to my friend Suz for telling me the story.

Zagnat: The Puppet Master
Here is a quick concept sketch for a new monster champion. Zagnat, the Puppet Master, sends out his webs to control the battle. His abilities include a slow-down/speed-up, a suppress, control of minion aggro, and poison.

Lux and Janna
This was my entry for a fan art competition for League of Legends. The contest was to take existing LOL champions and draw them as either bears (in honor of Volibear) or as nine-tailed foxes (in honor of Ahri). So here are Lux and Janna dressed up for a party in honor of the new champions. Done in Photoshop.
